At CCSC our goal is to help you and your dog learn in a fun, supportive atmosphere. We want everyone to be able to focus on their dog. We want dogs to stay safe, and people too! Please follow these rules so that all can enjoy their CCSC experience.

For All

 

No Smoking. There is no smoking, including e-cigarettes, on CCSC grounds per Columbia Ordinance. You may smoke inside your vehicle as long as you extinguish and discard all smoking materials within the vehicle. Do not extinguish or leave cigarette butts on the ground.

Clean up after your dog. We have scoops and bags available. This is a mandatory rule. Anyone caught not cleaning up may lose any and all privileges.

 

No Flexi-leads or chain leads. These leashes are dangerous in close quarters in a class. Please use only a fabric or leather leash, from 4 to 6 feet long. We have them available for sale if needed.

 

Be aware of your dog at all times. Keep your dog close, and focus on your dog. It’s easy to get to talking to a friend and forget where your dog is; meanwhile he may be behind you, staring down another dog or getting ready to lunge at that treat in a little girl’s hand. Remember, class is all about you and your dog; a time for you to be together and learn something fun and new. Save playing with other dogs and talking to your friends to after class, in the parking lot.

Children

 

We love kids at CCSC and strongly believe that involving family in the dog training experience can reap huge benefits for child and dog alike. However, children must be directly supervised by a responsible adult.

• No running and playing around the rings! That can disrupt classes and incite excitable dogs to chase. Not all dogs are kid friendly.

• Children are also not allowed on agility equipment or in agility tunnels at any time. The equipment is not child safe. We do not want your child injured, nor do we want expensive equipment damaged or broken.

Agility Equipment/Rings

​

• Only current agility students, building members with agility experience, or people with direct permission from the owners should be in the agility rings or on any agility equipment at any time. It’s really tempting to try the agility equipment, it looks fun. However, doing so without proper instruction could easily end up with a dog injured or badly scared. We want you to try agility! But enroll in a class.

• Even if you are enrolled in a beginning agility class, please avoid the temptation to put your dog on a piece of equipment he has not yet been introduced to, for the reasons above. You will get there soon, with proper instructor support and information.

• NO food directly on the rubber equipment!

• Do not throw food into tunnels.

• Do not throw toys in tunnels, or leave toys in tunnels.

For Building Members

​

• Classes and shows take priority. Sometimes, however, there are empty rings available even when classes are going on. Check the class schedule. If a class setup is marked in the agility or rally ring, do not move it.

• Respect others. If several members are trying to use the same ring in off hours, trade off and help each other.

• If you move it, put it back. If you make a mess, clean it up. If you turned it on, turn it back off. If you break it, own up and take responsibility.

• Do not leave food/treats in the building overnight. Any treats left in the building will either thrown away or used for other classes

• No ex-pens without express permission. Keep your crate area clean!

• Dogs must NEVER be left in the building unattended.

• No equipment is allowed to be removed from the building.

• Be safe. If working alone, it’s strongly advised that you leave the outer doors locked and keep your keycard and cell phone handy.

• LOCK UP!! Check all doors to ensure they have been closed tightly. Do not assume that because a car is in the parking lot, someone else is there. Sometimes people carpool to shows and leave cars in the lot.
